Operational Duties: Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service in a high volume retail environment through your own personal actions and development of your staff Provide effective decision making regarding customer issues Plan and promote special events for the gym on a monthly basis Hold weekly department meetings which includes customer service manager, head of group exercise, head trainer and maintenance supervisor Inspect facility daily for cleanliness using the gym daily walk through list. Responsible for ensuring that the facility is clean and operationally sound. Ensure the functionality of equipment with maintenance department on a monthly basis using the equipment maintenance checklist Interface with retail vendors and service contractorsSales Duties (for membership renewals) Hire, train and develop sales staff Motivate sales staff and monitor their production levels by using the established protocols and sales systems Hold daily production meeting with sales team Establish and maintain the company protocol for sales tours and price presentation Maintain and direct training and development of gym sales staff Establish and maintain an active referral system with the sales team Audit sales team on a monthly basis Submit monthly game plan for training, promotions and department meetings to Chief Operations Officer / DirectorPrerequisites of this position Successfully demonstrate leadership of effectively running production meeting Must have through knowledge of front desk operations and the contents of the Front Desk Training manual Trained and mentored one subordinate who can be considered for Assistant Manager Position. Run a gym in the General Managers absence Must be able to successfully pass all testing requirements including gym tours, telephone inquiry, counselor planner audit, guest card audit, lead box/bowl program, referral program and corporate outreach program. Thorough understanding of all company policies and proceduresManagement Duties: Manage, monitor, evaluate the performance of all department heads Monitor the hiring, training and scheduling of all gym level staff Communicate with gym-level employees through staff meetings held once a week Attend and participate in meetings with Management once a week Properly delegate, monitor and evaluate specifically assigned responsibilities of team Properly manage and maintain operational budget Ensure that all staff is adhering to staff uniform policy including uniform at all times when on duty Responsible for managing disciplinary actions involving all gym level employees Responsible for monitoring all incident reports filed at gym involving members and staff Approves all schedules of each gym department Control payroll costs to fall within projected budget Manage results of gym pro shop reports on a monthly basis Prepare, audit and submit payroll to Corporate office Oversee maintenance of inventory levels of office and retail supplies Administers the Companys policies and procedures Submit all new hire and termination information to Corporate as required by HR departmentGym Manager responsible for Valet service Housekeeping Towels Electric/Plumbing/General Breakages Maintenance of Equipment Access Control Handling Customer Complaints Juice Bar Massage Trainers and Head Trainer Reception and front desk staffReporting: GM Operations/ Vice President / Directors Company Profile Health & Fitness Industry
